On 12th August, a Facebook page shared a picture of an injured boy and a girl juxtaposed together to show the plight of Kashmiris. The page appeals to people to do whatever they can for the Kashmiri.
We did a reverse image search on Google and found the boy in the picture is from Syria. The picture is available on Getty Images according to which the boy wounded boy covered in blood is from Syria who was waiting to receive the treatment at a make-shift hospital in Kafr Batna in the besieged Eastern Ghouta region on the outskirts of the capital Damascus.
He was injured in deadly raids carried by the Syrian government on Feb 21, 2018.
The second picture is at least 8 years old and most likely from Afghanistan. The picture has been used in an article dated Dec 13, 2011.
The same picture has been tweeted by several social media users in the past to show attacks in Afghanistan.
However, we couldn't find any conclusive evidence to suggest that the picture is from Afghanistan or not. However, it is clear that the picture has no relation to the ongoing issue in Kashmir.
The boy in the viral picture is from Syria while the girl is most likely from Afghanistan.
